SISMA Velocimeters

SISMA Velocimeters are compact and reliable with high sensitivity sensors designed for environmental noise measurement and seismic monitoring.

SISMA 2-5-10
The SISMA series of velocimeters consists of three electrodynamic sensors equipped with precision electronics that homogenize and linearize them to obtain a flat band from the nominal resonant frequency: 0.5, 0.2 or 0.1Hz.
They are an excellent alternative to geophonic sensors of 1Hz or less for their lower cost, size and weight.
Applications
  • Surface noise measurements (Nakamura)
  • seismic and microseismic monitoring
  • measurement of artificial vibrations (blast monitoring).

Details
The seismometers of the SISMA series are compact, reliable and easy to use. They have high sensitivity and can also be connected to third-party acquirers. Available versions: triaxial, biaxial and uniaxial.

SISMA series sensors use the best high-gain electrodynamic transducers and components with high thermal stability. All in a milled, corrosion-treated aluminum housing.
SISMA series noise curves are calculated using the method required by the USGS and are directly related to the Peterson noise model. Only instruments that calculate noise thresholds in this manner can compare their curves in a standardized and reportable manner.

SISMA BoreHole
case
The SISMA BH is a versatile multipurpose sensor solution. It finds specific applications for microseism studies and noise surveys.
It is available with different sensor solutions. The passive spring locking system and the original removable orientation tool allow the unit to be used for both permanent and mobile stations.

For use in boreholes, it can also be positioned and oriented using a special removable orientation tool with rigid orienting rods.

The internal room allows further customization or specific sensors the client wants to use. It is possible to have the casing in PVC and INOX for aggressive/acid environments, or anodized aluminum for mechanical robustness.
Applications
  • Earthquake monitoring
  • Noise surveys (Nakamura's method)
  • Surface Waves Analysis (MASW)
  • Landslides monitoring (as inclinometers sensors)
  • Oil&Gas reservoirs monitoring
